Zorionak to our very own Gabriel Dalia and to his partner Jason Rutherford (Boise Fronton Association) for winning the 2008 BOISE PALETA INVITATIONAL. They won against the BCC's Marc Unhassobiscay and Edu Sarria (BFA) 35-31. Marianne Martinon (SFBCC) and Esther Cigandia (BFA) won an exhibition Baleen game against Evelyne Garat (SFBCC) and Anne Marie Mansisidor (BFA) 35-31. Other particpants from the BCC included Aitor Berrueta, Xabier Berrueta, Philippe Garat and David Indart.
The 2008 EUSKAL PILOTA TXAPELKETA TRINKETEAN is being held in Santiago, Chile from August 30th to Sept. 6th. John Falxa and Gratien Etchebehere will be playing Paleta Cuero and Baleen along with Alfio Casales who will be playing Baleen. They will all be representing NABO. Aitor Berrueta will be the delegate representing NABO. John & Gratien will also be playing an exhibition Paleta Cuero game with other local players on Sunday, Sept. 14th at 4:30pm at the SFBCC. There will be Esku/Handball Pilota Games during the NABO CONVENTION in Chino at the Aphessetche Trinketa. Semi Final games between France (Elite Pelote Basque) & Mexico will be played Friday, August 29th at 4pm. Gazteak games featuring the SFBCC's Daniel Camou, Chris Chamalbide, Erik Kvarna, Jesse Kvarna and Vincent Kvarna along with Emily Esnoz and Joseph Esnoz from Bakersfield and players from Chino will be held on Saturday Aug. 30th at 2pm. The final of France v. Mexico will be played at 4pm. Larrechea, Idiart (J. Pierre), Etcheverry, Waltary, Mariluz and delegates Biscouby and Idiart (J. Michel) will be representing the EPB from France and Medina, Loquillo, Santamaria and Lopez will be playing for Mexico.
The MENDIXOLAko PILOTARIEN BILTZARRA provided by Jean Louis Indart is being held at his home (10545 Sierra Mesa Rd, Juniper Hills, CA) on Saturday, Sept. 6th. Mass with Klika will be celebrated at 11am, followed by a BBQ chicken and steak lunch at 12pm ($20 adults, $7 children under 12). Gazteak and adult Esku Pilota Games will start at 2pm featuring players from California and France (EPB). Dancing will follow the Handball games with music by Euskal Herria Musikariak. Sandwiches will be sold in the afternoon for $5.00. All proceeds from the lunch tickets will be donated to the Pilotariak.
The 2008 NABOko PILOTA TXAPELKETA is being held at the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center on Sept. 12-13th with players from Bakersfield, Boise, Chino, Fresno and San Francisco. Exhibition Paleta Goma and Paleta Cuero games will be played on the 14th at 3:30pm with players from SF, Bakersfield and Boise. Please come out and support our players. All game are FREE and are open to the public. There will be a Dinner and Dance on Friday, Sept. 13th at 7pm with a presentation on Makhila history and fabrication by Jean Louis Bergara (www.makhila.com), a BBQ Steak Dinner and Dance on Saturday at 7pm, and a BBQ Rack of Lamb Lunch on Sunday at 12pm.
